ALpha is a verb...not a noun

Intellectual engagement among Brothers not only keeps us sharp, but creates opportunities for Brotherhood. The Illinois Forward administration will launch a District wide effort focused on quarterly  virtual book discussions in  the District.    AIR will stimulate dialogue among Brothers as we also build relationships. We will work toward scaling this initiative by presenting the District of Illinois' model to the Regional Vice President.   

Because health is important, (mental, spiritual, and physical) the Alpha Illinois Forward administration will appoint a District Surgeon General (DSG) to form a committee of Brothers with expertise in a wide range of health professions.  The DSG will be charged with organizing a monthly webinar series educating Brothers on health matters, as well as providing resources for Brothers facing health challenges.  We will create Brotherly chapter competitions around weight loss and prostate and colon screenings.  

At the core of the Illinois Forward vision is College Brothers, those who will take the District into the next decade and beyond. The Committee on College Brothers Affairs will be chaired by a College Brother. This Committee will work closely with the ADD and DD to better respond to the needs of College Brothers, including leadership training, mentorship and professional opportunities, and preparation for life after graduation. College Brothers are the future and will help get us there and, one day, will lead us.

Because Alpha is a VERB and not a noun, we provide social advocacy on behalf of the communities  we serve.  The Alpha Illinois visions calls for an expansion of the Alpha Day at the Capital to a committee whose work will be dedicated to assisting the District with its social advocacy footprint, as well as leading the District's efforts at being a voice and action for social change. This committee will do the work of the National Committee at the District level. Silence is betrayal, and men of ALPHA serve. 

Because moving FORWARD depends on our ability to build on the past and strategically move into the future, the Illinois Forward vision calls for a  planning committee to present our plan to the District which outlines objectives, strategies, and tactics aligned to the goals of Alpha Illinois Forward.  This committee will bring together the strategic minds in our District to work on developing a list of goals with measurable outcomes around increasing revenue, positioning the district, and enhancing the District of Illinois place in Alpha. We will present to the District a strategic plan and ask for adoption in the first year of the Illinois Forward plan.
